A taste of summer is on the way...
We began the day with clouds and a few showers, but by late morning into the afternoon we saw more sunshine as the wedge is breaking down. And soon our winds will shift to the SW, allowing for the temperatures to soar from Sunday on. Record warmth is possible on Monday, followed by a better chance for summer-like thunderstorms on Tuesday.
Tonight: Partly cloudy and mild with lows in the mid-to-upper 50s.
Sunday: More sun than clouds and much warmer with highs in the middle 80s.
We are even hotter on Monday as highs climb into the upper 80s. A few spots in Southside may get to 90 degrees! We are dry under partly/mostly sunny skies on Monday, but a disturbance to the west will move in on Tuesday increasing our chances for some showers and storms. We will start Tuesday dry, but will end with some passing t-showers as clouds will thicken through the day. Temperatures will stay quite warm with highs in the lower 80s. We will stay well above average for the rest of the work week as well, topping out in the middle 80s on Wednesday and Thursday and the lower 80s on Friday. There is only a slight chance for a stray t-shower or two on Wednesday, but once again, a higher threat for scattered showers and storms will enter Thursday through Saturday. Each day the best opportunity to see rain/storms will lie in the afternoon and evening hours…during the heating of the day. We will eventually turn a little cooler the week after next, but until then…enjoy this taste of summer.
