Yard work is hard work

The beautiful weather on the weekends has been nice for getting work done in the yard but I’m not sure how much more I can take… We moved mulch all day Saturday and when I woke up on Sunday my back was a little sore but when I sat down at the table for breakfast I tweaked a muscle that sent a shooting pain through my body… doesn’t that figure… after moving I don’t know how many loads of mulch I twisted it funny sitting down in a chair…

When it happened Matt was sitting there and asked me what was wrong… like a hypochondriac I exclaimed - I don’t know I just got a sharp pain… I may have a kidney stone!  He halfway chuckled and said I’ll bet you just pulled a muscle in your back… and he was right…

So what did I do on Sunday?  More mulching… last year we started the project and other things got in the way so by the end of the summer we still had more dirt that mulch… this year we are determined to get the job finished..

After several ice packs and ibuprofen it is still a little sore but not near as bad as it was… so what am I going to do this weekend?  More mulch with a 74 and sunny day predicted for Saturday… I need to remember to lift with my legs more I guess…

By the way - the deer gave my tulips a break for a day or two… until this morning… they like the maroon ones better than the orange ones for some reason…
