I am working on creating a WSLS 10 facebook page for myself… and have a personal page on Facebook that occasionally receives a viewer comment.. this evening this one gets high marks from me… because it was so sincere… simple and to the point…
The message read… “You’re a good news anchor…We pop popcorn during the news. Keep up the great work!”
I don’t know exactly who “we” is but it is nice to know that people enjoy watching us because I enjoy my job here at WSLS 10 so much… I am blessed to work with talented and respectful people… during community events I have the opportunity to meet so many new and interesting people who help me have a better understanding of what is important to our viewers… even during my trips to the grocery store or the Y… people are generally so friendly…
I understand that for our loyal viewers you invite us into your home every evening and therefore you feel like you know us… and if it weren’t for you there would be no need for my position… I do have a favorite news program I watch on Sunday’s and it is an event I would think of as “popcorn worthy”... it just humbled me and made me feel good that someone feels that way about our news…
While I understand the feedback is not always positive… I am open to constructive comments as well… but I think this viewer has created a whole new classification of news programming interest…“popcorn worthy”... now I do wonder if that popcorn has extra butter and some of that crazy orange salt stuff on top… I often opt for spray butter and a sprinkle of the orange fake salt… okay now I am just getting off topic.. see you on the news.
