There is a reason we call some animals “wild”

As we talked about the killer whale that caused its trainer’s death in our editorial meeting I started thinking about the different opinions and angles that were being presented… and while we may enjoy being able to view and appreciate wild animals in a tame setting… perhaps there are certain types that should be left to Mother Nature’s home for them…

Maybe we should just be satisfied with the video and photos that come out of documentaries and such… but that just isn’t enough for some… since we are the “dominant” being in this world… but some think that it is our right or that we are in some way entitled to have access to other animals or creatures because “we can” and act without thinking the action through. 

It is sad that a woman is dead because of a killer whale.. and while they are smart creatures… they are also instinctual…Researchers would like to know everything there is to know about the killer whale and other wild animals… but that will never be possible…
