So I was running early for my hair appointment in Roanoke… then I was going to pick up a quick bite for lunch to eat at my desk at the station while I got an early start on several projects I am trying to finish up….
As I am driving down a two lane road not far from my house I see a red pick-up truck stopped in my lane and then in the opposite lane a giant dump truck… also just stopped… I guess these two were catching up on what they were going have for lunch.. who knows but I assumed as they noticed a car was coming they would wrap up their little chat and stop holding up traffic… not so much… I blew my horn because some of us work on a schedule… still not enough for these two guys to understand how rude and just plain illegal it was to just sit there!
Finally, they began moving.. I wish I had a blinking sign that I could turn on that said… “that’s what cell phones are for…” or pick a parking lot - there are several near this spot… pull over - chat it up - get a cup of coffee - whatever… but it is never okay… in my mind to just proclaim to any other drivers that your coversation or little chat is more important than allowing traffic to flow freely…
