Swine Flu Special has been re-scheduled

If you were looking for our Swine Flu Special Thursday night at 6:00pm set your DVR or mark your calendar for Thursday November 19th at 6:00pm - we will have Virginia Department of Health Experts staffing our phone bank from 5:00pm until 7:30pm to answer your questions about Swine Flu and vaccine availability.

Last night on my drive home the rain was coming down so steady that I thought about that scene in Forrest Gump where Forrest is talking about his time in Vietnam and he starts it with “Then one day it started raining…” if you have seen the movie you know the rest… this morning our rain gauge on our deck was overflowing - more than five inches overnight…

This morning I woke up and started my day with errands… and while I was at the Y… I put my blackberry on silent…it was still raining as I left.. I got back home it was still raining… then we got word that the water was going to come up over the docks and we needed to “secure things” - I needed to come to Roanoke early.. so Matt was left to do all of the work taking time away from his reports…

Then, I heard my work cell phone going off… and it sounded like a dance party in the dining room… because I have a crazy ring programmed on the phone and keep it turned up loud so I am less likely to miss a call… we needed to re-schedule the Special - I was so glad we made that decision because it shows flexibility on our part and a strong sense of priority -

Public safety could be at risk with flooding - and in order to maximize the attention both important topics will receive… we have rescheduled the special for one week from today… so get your questions ready… we hope to hear from you… and we have a lot of amazing stories ready to air about how H1N1 has affected people in our area and ways to make sure you and your family have the most protection possible.
