Swine flu protection may come faster than first thought

Since the first cases of Swine Flu or now Novel H1N1 were reported we have learned so much about this new virus but at the same time still have many questions about it because it is so new.

The Swine Flu vaccine is so new that I will admit that I had some lingering doubt about whether I would get it.  I typically get a seasonal flu shot and fully intend to get one this year.  Why wouldn’t I get the Swine Flu vaccine too?  I think my doubt must be in large part human nature - fear of the unknown.  We have never had to deal with this flu before so treating it or preventing is also uncharted territory.  Ultimately I think we have to have faith in our Health Department and infectious disease expert’s recommendations and that is definitely to get both flu shots this year.

New information out also finds that instead of the first predicted two doses for H1N1 protection and individual may get the same immunity from just one dose.  I think I will try to get them both at once… I can’t stand to get any kind of shot… I break out into a cold sweat at times feel like I am going to faint… but I will be getting both vaccines as long as they are available for my age group and risk category etc… good luck staying well this season.
