My husband and I live at Smith Mountain Lake but feel like we rarely get the chance to take full advantage of all that it has to offer… and going out on the lake on a Tuesday is a whole different world from going out on a Saturday…
We spent our vacation at home last week… and most of the weekdays we felt like we had the whole 500 miles of shoreline to ourselves… we did lots of wake-boarding.. tubing and kayaking.. and if you want to see the way we wrapped up the vacation by taking our 14 year old beagle for a boat-ride I have posted a flip-cam mini-movie on my Facebook page…
He hates the car but loves to ride on the boat or the golf cart… perhaps he likes the wind in his “ear” (for people who don’t know our little guy was born with only one floppy ear)
He doesn’t do well in the heat… and I am not at home in the evening during the week for any “family boat rides”.. so it was a treat when after dinner last night Matt said, “Get Luckie and meet me on the dock… we’ll take him for a little boat ride.”
We always joke back and forth.. as if we are the voice of our dog (as he puts his nose in the air sniffing a thousand times a minute) reciting all of the different smells he must be taking in.. fish.. ducks… turtles etc… it was a great week and a great way to wrap up the week…
