Spring is getting the cold shoulder

The warmer temperatures we had last week are causing some plants to spring up a little early… may of you may have noticed daffodils poking their green fingers through the earth… I just noticed yesterday our Bradford Pear trees have buds on them… and as I went for a run on my day off last Friday this bright patch of yellow caught my eye…

These “croci” are in full bloom in mid February… these things didn’t even come up last year and the year before was their first time blooming… not sure if they are on some crazy blooming schedule that skips a year or something…

As I passed them I smiled… because it made me think spring was close… this afternoon as I left to come into work I was less than happy about them blooming early because I don’t want the cold weather to freeze them before they get a chance to blend in with the rest of my plants…

I also planted a bunch of Hokie… maroon and orange tulips here… hope I don’t see any signs of them until the warmer weather is here for good…

Weekend was good… nice and relaxing… back in the swing of things at work now.
