Slow night at the gym

The gym was so quiet tonight that my workout was like true therapy… for the past several months I have had to wait in line for a machine or fight to get just 30 minutes on a treadmill.. which is not enough time for the running workout I need to put in as part of the training program for the Cherry Blossom 10 miler coming up in Washington DC in April… but tonight was different… no crowd… I spent a lot of time stretching after my workout and just enjoyed *not* feeling rushed… I spend a large part of my life rushing…

After getting back to the station I promptly turned the TV at my desk to the Olympics…

I am watching the downhill skiing right now and the 70 mile per hour fall that just happened was crazy to watch… the female skier went flying off her skis… hit face and stomach first and then skipped across the snow… eventually ending up sliding down on her backside… I felt sorry for her until she started slamming her ski poles into the ground… I might do the same thing but I am not an Olympian..  I think our Olympic athletes should show a certain amount of grace and poise when they mess up…

Lindsey Vonn just took the lead by a half of a second and promptly launched into screams of joy and excitement as she rolled around on the ground…but that one didn’t bother me.. it just made made smile.

Men’s skating finals are Thursday night.

Link to more about the Olympics and upcoming events along with recaps of the best.
