Skating and half pipes

I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed the Olympics… there is something about the Winter Olympics that draws me in… the skiing is amazing.. the skating is great… and I can’t wait to see Shaun White on the half pipe tomorrow… just watched the segment on NBC about his private half pipe where he has been working on tricks and moves that no one has seen before… he is one of a few people who seems to be able to defy gravity…

While every Olympic athlete is the best of the best in their sport… there are some people who just stand out and clearly have a natural gift that is only enhanced by their hard work and practice…

Then, there are athletes who practice and work hard but will never be able to attain that natural gift… because that is something we can’t work for… it was “given” to us…  Shaun White is one of those athletes with both the gift and the drive…

On the skating front.. tonight’s short program for the men was exciting to watch… it still hurts me when they bobble - especially when the announcers say something like “This is his third Olympics and likely his last…”

My favorite upcoming events:
Men’s half pipe Wednesday and Men’s freestyle skating on Thursday.

If you missed it or just want to see some of the routines again you can click here to watch video of the pairs skating and other competitions that have already aired on WSLS 10.
