I was looking through Alison’s Runner’s World magazine the other day…checking out upcoming races… I looked through the selections for our part of the country and didn’t see anything appealing… then I was looking in the Northeast section and it hit me over the head like a rock… “Divas Half Marathon” in New York City… What?!? I have to check this out.. so I went on line and then I knew… this was the perfect event for me and Alison and then… I included our friend Laura… who was the best marathon “fan party” organizer ever for us when we ran the full marathon in Richmond last year…
Laura… said she would think about it.. if there ever is a half marathon to motivate someone who wouldn’t normally run a half marathon the Divas Half Marathon is it… the medal you get for finishing is fabulous… there is plenty of pink… one of my favorite colors… a feather boa stop and tiara stop… and at the end you get a rose and a glass of champagne along with a fun dance party… needless to say.. Laura is now on board.. and we have all signed up.. so it is a done deal… I am now working on recruiting one more friend who is a “non-runner” but I think would enjoy it and the road trip we will be making in October.
