I was on vacation last week… not a care in the world… I went skiing… saw my family… swa Matt’s family…my sister and brother in law’s baby was born.. we have a new nephew named Nathan Grant - or Nate G as Matt and I call him for short… watched lots of movies… and then Sunday my chin started to itch… hmmmmm what is the connection? Well.. that is what I am trying to get to the bottom of…
I noticed a new scarf my brother gave me was touching my chin… and I had been wearing it virtually non-stop since I got it… I stopped wearing the scarf and thought the itching would go away.. instead it has gotten a bit worse and it itches… what the heck?!?! I have talked to doctors and pharmacists in the past who tell me that a skin irritation does not usually go away immediately no matter what it is…
So… what do I do but log on to diagnose myself… there is a website I found through http://www.medlineplus.gov called http://www.familydoctor.org that allows you to search by symptom and gives you flow charts that you can follow to try to figure out what is causing your “issues” - I found pages of possibilities after searching chin rash through the initial website but the most helpful was through http://www.familydoctor.org and here is a link to that easy to use flow chart search system.
I have determined that my problem is contact dermatitis… what is the best “cure” cortisone cream… of which we have none of at the house… so who was on my side but reporter Chris Whitley… he was done with his story for the night and I asked him if he would run out to the closest store to pick up some of the cream… I told him I would give him money and he could keep all of the change if he wanted and if he would help me out…
Thanks Chris… we’ll see if the condition is better tomorrow.. let’s hope so… so far… now one day later… the cortisone appears to be making the rash better and I’m not sure what will happen to the scarf…
