My kind of fall

There is nothing like a brisk walk in the morning… with the fog still lifting… the sun is out but the air is crisp… the conversation is good.. funny… thoughtful… memories shared.. future plans made… that was how my day began with my mom in Blacksburg… her neighborhood is near part of the Huckleberry Trail and as we walked by these horses.. they just made me smile… not sure why…

Perhaps, I am embracing the cooler weather.. instead of whining about how much I will miss summer… or because my mom and I weren’t on a time schedule with a list of errands to do and could just enjoy all that the morning had to offer… life is too short not to enjoy such moments…

We live in such a beautiful part of the country… part of Virginia… some people love the hustle and bustle of a big city… growing up in Blacksburg.. years ago… I used to think a big city would be better… now.. I wouldn’t trade fields.. horses.. mountains… and all that our rural area has to offer for anything… so peaceful… so good.
