What a great vacation I had… a week of relaxing at home.. running some last minute Christmas errands.. my husband and I watched at least 6 movies.. some good some sad.. some bad.. some funny… the nice thing about vacation is a lack of deadlines in my world… I never felt rushed or really stressed about much of anything…
It really is nice to “re-charge” the batteries from time to time…
I felt my OCD urges kicking in yesterday though… we spent Christmas Eve with family in Blacksburg.. and Christmas morning with my husband’s family.. it was yesterday afternoon before Matt and I had a chance to exchange gifts.. and then right after…
I proceeded to use an empty box and a bunch of leftover tissue paper to start taking decorations off the tree…
Matt had gone outside to set up the new VT corn hole game we got.. and when he came in a saw me.. he was a little shocked..
He said, “Karen, I’m not sure I have ever heard of anyone taking down Christmas decorations.. just minutes after unwrapping presents…”
He went on to say it seemed a little crazy… which I could see.. but I don’t have much time this week for it.. and wanted to get a little jump on the process.. it was short-lived once the new game was set up and I went outside to try it out…
So now I have some of the decorations packed up… many more to go… a couple of things to return to stores… a half marathon to continue preparing for… the list is long again.. but I’m smiling and loving my life… so what if it is Monday… it is what you make of it.
