So.. after a four day break from work I am back into my work routine and back into my fitness routine… it is easy to get lazy when you are on vacation and the hoilday you are about to celebrate focuses on eating and visiting with family.. both are high on the fun scale and low on calorie burn… I felt like I did pretty good on Thanksgiving Day.. dinner out with my husband’s family meant no leftovers to tempt me around the house.. then Friday we went to Blacksburg to spend time with my family and that is where the unhealthy eating continued… we had pizza.. which is a little non-traditional but a crowd-pleaser..
The one thing I managed to keep control of were portion sizes… but other than that.. I did very little working out.. didn’t drink my normal amount of water each day… and one day ate lunch and dinner at one of my favorite Blacksburg restaurants that specializes in pizza and wings… ugggh… by Sunday when we got home and we got all of the Christmas decorations out I was just plain sluggish and a couch potato… and I was glad I forgot the apple and cherry pie leftovers at my mom’s place…
So… I went to bed early last night got some good rest… woke up this morning and got in a good workout with weights at home… then went to the gym over dinnerbreak and ran intervals… nothing like getting back on the wagon feet first… I find when I go off track and careen down the mountain into a valley of pizza and wing sauce.. the only way for me to get back on track is to swing the pendulum in the opposite direction… so today healthy breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner…
Tomorrow.. appointment with the doctor for a physical.. cholesterol check etc… not sure it was a smart idea for me to schedule it the week after Thanksgiving… wondering if the wings and pizza are “still in my system…” guess I’ll just have to see…
