Magazine sharing is a great thing and it’s green

Last night I ordered my mom a subscription to People magazine—they had two deals going and I opted for the one that was less expensive but still lasts for more than 7 months… anyway as I am wrapping up the transaction over the phone the operator says…“You get the chance to try three magazines for three months for free with this subscription…”  I politely declined… explaining that I did not want to have to go through the effort of letting those magazines know I did not want them at the end of the three months…she then on her second pitch… explained that I would have 45 days after receiving the bill to cancel the subscriptions free of charge… again… I said politely - I do not have time to fool with that - I really just want the People magazine… end of conversation…

I already have two health magazine subscriptions that I look forward to each month… I give them to a friend when I am done and she gives me two of her magazines that she subscribes to when she is done… I get the benefit of four magazines for half the price—and it is “greener” fewer trees being sacrificed so we can read about the latest health and running trends… plus for me it is hard to find time to read more than 4 magazines a month…

Countdown to my beach vacation is getting very close - we head out Saturday morning so I won’t be doing much blogging next week but hopefully will have lots of fun stories when I get back.
