We have finally finished most of the yard work at the house… Jay and Jeff will be glad they don’t have to listen to me talk about that anymore… The rain has been great for all of the new flowers that we have planted around the house… but you can almost hear our grass growing… This week looks to be a busy one… we will be updating swine flu cases… and I am working on a story regarding new asthma research in our area…
I also just got some good news from one of the organizers of the first ever Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy dinner. I was honored to be a speaker at the event last week. This morning I learned the group raised 45 thousand dollars! The school finished its first year with 20 students. It may seem small now but it is obvious that will all of the dedicated faculty, staff and families that this really is the beginning of a much bigger vision that is sure to be realized.
