A viewer left a message on my voice mail a couple of weeks ago about a doctor who was organizing a group of local medical professionals to go to Haiti… when I called Dr. Adam Sarbin with Physician’s to Children… it took a lot of convincing to let me tell his story… we talked a couple of times and he thought it over and to my delight called me back and said I could come talk to him and some other members of the group.
Dr. Sarbin was hesitant because he did not want any “credit” for organizing the trip… he told me that he just wanted to help the people of Haiti with his medical skills… and that is what the other group members said… each of them is using their vacation time to make the trip. The group leaves on February13th and returns on February 22nd. My hope is that they will have a safe and productive journey.
Even though we can’t all go to Haiti… we can ask ourselves what gift or talent do we posess that we can share with others to make our home… our community… our world… a better place…
Everyone has something to give.
