For the first time in years my husband and I have season tickets to the Virginia Tech football games… I was so excited before the season and have to say that so far I have been a little bit disappointed… I mean what VT fan isn’t?
The first game was a heartbreaker because the Hokies just got a late start it seemed and had really picked up steam by the fourth quarter… I felt like if they had just five more minutes they might have pulled out a win.. but they didn’t…
Then, last weekend we stood in the pouring rain for the entire game… no complaints about the weather because Hokie fans will endure rain… wind… snow heat you name it to support the team… the score was a little too close for comfort but we were about to score when what happens? One of our star players fumbles the ball… the collective sigh of fans could be heard for miles… What was going on?!?!?! We lost again… two in a row now…
Our neighbors have a son who went to JMU.. he couldn’t wait to waive his Dukes flag in our faces.. we had to just smile and laugh it off… they won outright and played a great game…
So that brings me to now… I am going through the same motions as last weekend… getting stuff ready for the tailgate… got my maroon and orange ready… my game plan is set… I just hope Virginia Tech’s is too!
