I know it is supposedly bad luck to leave Christmas decorations up past January 1st… but maybe just this one time I could tempt fate… probably not.
If you would see my house right now it looks like a holiday train came through it.. some things are packed up.. but most of it is still in place from Christmas.. candles in all of the windows.. wreath on the front of the house.. 2 decorated Christmas trees that are still twinkling… and that doesn’t even include the mantle .. complete with garland.. candles.. small trees.. wreath with lights… whew.. I am getting tired just thinking about all that needs to be done this weekend…. if you have already re-packed your decorations for the year I am envious.
However, as I ponder just leaving everything up until next year… I know that I will be up bright and early… scouring the attic for boxes… because the feeling of getting everything put away and the floors swept is a nice clean slate for the start of the new year… and then my plans include a quiet evening at home with my husband.. some steaks on the grill and I may likely be sound asleep before midnight… but the time will come and go and we will all hit the re-set button on Sunday and do the best we can to make 2012 a great year!
