Getting back into a routine

Before vacation I was clicking along - really busy at times but I have an equation that I live by most everyday… make the most of my time… fit in a workout… plan healthy meals and snacks… manage time at work and know when it is time to stop everything and make sure I am out on the set and prepared for the news at 5:00pm…and 5:30 and 6:00p…

This week so far I feel like I am on the edge of being back in the routine… you know how when you try to put the plastic lid on a container of leftovers… and it almost fits just perfect but you have to hold the lid just right before it snaps into place… I feel like I am close to getting “snapped” into place..

Sometimes the first day back from vacation is a breeze and the second as easy or easier…

But not this time… my Blackberry started having problems mid-week last week - since I was on vacation I put off checking on it… so Monday I wasn’t getting any work e-mails… I couldn’t log on from my laptop at home before work… I used an “app” to get to my outlook mail provided by one of our engineers and now my work e-mail address is messed up for outgoing e-mails… When I got into work Monday I had 256 e-mails in my in-box because I didn’t check any while on vacation (I usually clean it out a time or two even when I am off from work)...  many of those were easily deleted spam but still time consuming… I spent time on the phone trying to set up an interview that is now two to three weeks overdue… and I am in desperate need of a haircut that is scheduled for Wednesday… plus I have gotten stuck in two downpours on my way in that caused me to nearly pull over because there was little to no visibility…

Okay… vent is officially done… lid is secure… now carrying on with getting ready for the 11:00pm news.
