It was a great weekend for football in my household… Matt and I got up early.. .put the flags on the Jeep to roll to Blacksburg hoping for a Hokie win… all week long people had been saying VT was going to win for sure… I don’t take any game for granted this season…
We left early enough to avoid most of the traffic… picked up a food tray we ordered to take to a friend’s tailgate and got to the stadium by 10:00am… enough time to enjoy food and fun with friends before the game… my weekly staples are… sunscreen… my VT huggie with bright orange feathers around the bottom… and a plastic baggie filled with my favorite treat during the game… this week it was a perfect mix of pretzel m&ms; and candy corn.. last week it was red vines… any way… we get to our seats and I got a little nervous at first when Central Michigan scored right off the top… eventually the final score was close to a blow out and that made me happy!
Then. Sunday afternoon was beautiful weather for a boat ride… we got back home and watched the end of the Redskins game which turned out to be the best part… football makes me so nervous… especially during overtime… I thought the game was over when Green Bay was kicking that field goal and but the “doink” sound of the football bouncing off the goal post and the crowd’s reaction showed otherwise… Redksins actually were scrapping there at the end and it was good to see.. in the past it seems they just give up when times get tough.. but they pulled out a win and that was exciting to see!
Matt immediately put on his Cooley jersey I got him for Christmas to wear to his parents house for dinner… it has gotten more use this year than last so far… hopefully this past weekend is a sign of a winning trend for both teams.
