Dry Winter Skin

It happens to me every year and I am convinced it is hereditary because my mom’s hands look as bad as mine this time of year… the ends of my fingers actually split open… I have tried the lotion and gloves at night and I am not sure which is worse.. dry cracked hands or the fact that I can’t sleep with gloves on… sleep deprivation vs. band-aids and antibiotic ointment on my fingers… now the thumb and forefinger on my right hand are problem spots…

Tonight my hair stylist asked me what happened because I had them bandaged up… I know I look a little silly but the pain from such a small cut is pretty intense.. like a paper cut…it kind of looks like I have been in a fight.. or like I fought the hammer and the hammer won…

I have talked with dermatologists in the past who say petrolatum is a key ingredient in moisturizers that soothe dry skin but when we wash our hands all the time and I use anti-bacaterial hand gel like crazy.. I can’t get ahead of the dry skin…

And to beat it all I think I may be fighting a cold :)
