Don’t forget to vote!!

I stay really busy like so many of you… but I have definitely budgeted time tomorrow for voting… when people say they don’t have time or they don’t think their one vote counts much it is sad to hear.. there are people in other countries who are dying for the right to be a part of the governing process…

I think there is something exciting about the political process… I like being involved in what is going on around me.. Matt and I usually ride to the polls together on my way into work… does my candidate always win?  No.. of course not.. but to me that isn’t what voting is all about…

I keep my views to myself for the most part.. unless I am talking to my immediate family.. that whole notion of avoiding topics related to religion and politics definitely holds true for me.. especially since my job is to be unbiased…

I never realized how closely people watch on election day… Blue and Red are pretty much off limits.. unless you wear them together.. but then when you throw a little white in there.. I feel like I look a bit like uncle sam… so I started planning my wardrobe for election day early…

One year I thought I was dressing neutral by wearing a black blazer and a white blouse… seriously a viewer complained that I had worn that as a symbol of mourning the loss of one of the candidates.. I can’t remember exactly which election it was.. but I remember the comment.. and I remember thinking.. seriously?  I go out of my way to be NEUTRAL and I am still giving someone the impression that I am in favor of a particular side…

That comment is a bit out of the ordinary and it falls under the category of you can’t please everyone… but.. sometimes I feel like I still try.. so in an effort.. to remain neutral… I have a new pine green dress I haven’t worn.. I am pretty sure pine green is not remotely related to any political party…

And then.. there is always purple.. a perfect mix/blend of red and blue… but no one would probably get that..

No matter what color you wear Tuesday make sure you show it off at the polls and get your vote it.. because every one does count.
