Dirty Money

We recently had a penny war at the station as part of the WSLS campaign to raise money for our local United Way… it was a lot of fun and I had not ever heard of such a contest but.. I will compete in just about anything and really like to win.. the premise of the “war” was each of the four teams gets points for pennies but you can cancel out points for the other teams by putting silver or dollars in their collection jar..

I made several trips upstairs with dollars and quarters in hand in an effort to thwart the competition… needless to day .. my thwarting didn’t bring in a win but we did raise some good money for United Way… well.. someone had to count all of that money… Judy, one of my co-workers came down after tallying the money with these dirty greenish brown rubber gloves…  the ones you see in the pictures… that is what they looked like after handling all of that money… disgusting!!!

It got me thinking that we have antibacterial wipes for grocery carts… and lysol for our desks and homes… but I don’t ever think of using anti-bacterial hand gel after handling money but I will now… maybe that is why I keep getting whatever is going around… I keep ending up with sick people’s dollars and coins in my purse…
