Clearing out the clutter

We have a spare bedroom that is more like a small dumping ground… it has a small bed and a couple of dressers… but typically you can barely see the bed because it is covered with my clothes… a basket full of clean laundry… purses… hats… you name it… and while I unpacked from our Christmas vacation I did not really put things back where they belong… I would be so embarrassed if anyone saw this room and there is another spare room that runs a close second…

This morning I reached my breaking point… What good is a room if it is virtually unusable?  You have heard of dust bunnies?  My dresser had dust elephants on top of it… no excuse… so today I cleaned and cleared my little heart out… and I am going to try really hard to stop the bad “flinging” habit I have in order to prevent the mess from coming back…

The main floor of our house is almost always clean at least neat… the kitchen.. dining room… living room… but upstairs has been a different story… that is until now… I am on a clutter-free mission and so far so good…

I get WebMD news letters in my e-mail and the title of one of today’s main articles is “Clear Clutter Out of Your Life” - part of it says that clutter equals stress… and I think that might be true for me… because when I looked at the clean bedroom before I left today.. I felt *less stress* a feeling of accomplishment and order washed over me… and now I can barely wait to get started on the rest of the house.. okay.. I am not really *that* excited about it.. :)
