Are you kidding me? Did they really print that?

I’ve talked about my health magazine subscriptions before… and as I look through the magazines usually a half a dozen things catch my eye enough to follow up with more research… I am about to be critical of one of them…

* Recently, as I was looking through one of them I came across what was called “a lunch box for grown-ups”  - since I pack my dinner most days of the week I like the fact that it had 4 different containers that were measured portion sizes that fit inside this plastic lunch box looking thing… when I went to the website I found that it would cost me $23.00 not including shipping and handling… do I really need a “tool” like this to make sure I am eating the right portion sizes?

I have decided that my $23.00 dollars would be better spent on my next grocery store trip… to buy fresh fruits and vegetables which is what I have been eating a lot of lately anyway… and you can pretty much eat as much as you want when it comes to fresh produce…

* Then, there was a blurb about some chocolate candies that are exposed to a Tibetan monk’s brain waves and are said to increase well-being… I’m not kidding - now… it also mentioned that half of the money you pay for the chocolates goes to charity… but I would rather donate one hundred percent of my $20.00 (plant a good seed) - and just pick up a pack of the small bits of candy-covered chocolate found at any grocery store check-out.

* There were several good articles including one that focused on women who embrace a part of their body that may not be perfect but is special and meaningful to their strength and character…

But on the very next page.. a new article titled…“Your dream body starts here…” it was about getting in shape for summer but the wording still seemed a little odd and out of place… this subscription for me has expired and likely will not be renewed…
