What’s next in Josh Warner case

Some points I couldn’t get to in my 6 o’clock piece on Josh Warner’s bond hearing (Warner is charged with murdering his six week old daughter in Bedford County):

  1) The judge recommended seeing Warner again once the final autopsy report is complete.  The judge said if the final report confirmed findings on the “first phase” report (essentially that the child had no traumatic injuries) then he probably would grant some sort of reasonable bond.

  2) The lead prosecutor, Wes Nance, told the judge it could take four to five weeks minimum in order to get that report back from the medical examiner’s office.

  3) Warner’s family treated me with the utmost respect.  They came in from Connecticut and Tennessee.  They have every intention of raising bail for Warner if a judge grants him such.  The intention is to take him back to Connecticut when and if he gets out on bond.  All of them said Warner has watched their children before and they would absolutely allow him to do it again.

  4) Warner’s family also disputed a claim from Richard Knisely (whom I interviewed about his interactions with Warner and Baby Rowan’s mother on Wednesday) that he could be the father of another child belonging to Rowan’s mother.  The child is currently in foster care.  The family said Warner is the biological father of that child as well.

I just wanted to update you on my brother. He was released on O.R on July 7. He was allowed to go live in CT until his preliminary hearing which has been changed to Aug 24. Since the judge and prosecuter did NOT feel a need for a bond this shows that they too don’t think my brother did anything wrong, and we,his family, believe all charges will be dropped come August. I hope that when all this is said and done that you’re station will put as much effort in clearing his name as it did helping to smear it.

I want to thank you for the fair coverage you have offered my brother. We as his family- who stand behind him fully- appreciate that you came to the courthouse so we could help set some facts straight about the case. We are hoping this will all get resolved and our brother will be able to come home and finally get the chance to mourn for his daughter properly.
