We shouldn’t give up on the Harrington case being solved

I was in Albemarle County at this time two years ago parked on the shoulder of a highway near a farm.

I remember one of those road signs saying it was about six miles from Charlottesville.

A farmer there had discovered a body.

I was hearing from several of my contacts that it was likely the body of Morgan Harrington.

She had been missing for more than three months.

As I recall, investigators felt strongly from the start that it was Harrington due to some clothing they found at the scene.

I know it’s been more than two years since her disappearance but I still think this case is a great candidate for investigators to solve.

Remember, police matched a DNA hit to an unidentified assailant in Fairfax, a kidnapping and rape case as I recall from several years before Harrington’s murder.

I remember writing in a blog then (around the first of July 2010) that that was a huge break in the case.

We can only speculate as to what happened to this unidentified man.

State police also released a sketch of him given to them by the Fairfax victim.

He could be prison?

He could be dead?

He could still be out there?

We just don’t know.

My best guess is that state police know a lot more than they’ve released to us—- the media.

The reason for that is usually that they don’t want to hurt the investigation.

An investigation I believe can conclude with an arrest.
