The concern I have with picking the Hokies in this game is history.
Virginia Tech has not fared well in these games.
The Wolverines quarterback, Denard Robinson, is also the type of player who always gives Bud Foster’s defensive scheme fits.
When Foster dials up a blitz, Robinson has the capability of busting a 20 yard run.
Michigan’s defense concerns me.
Notre Dame shredded this team earlier in the year. The Irish was a team who couldn’t find a quarterback (did you see their bowl game?).
Tech is the fastest team in the ACC.
But I don’t think the Hokies speed will bother Michigan all that much.
The Hokies kicking game *will* cost them points.
In the end, it’s these types of games where dynamic players like Robinson tend to take over.
Tech will look to force him to beat them with his arm and I think he’s capable of doing it.
Official prediction: Michigan 41, Virginia Tech 38.
I think this game will continue the trend of high scoring bowl games.
Unfortunately I suspect another season will end on a sour note for the Hokies.
