Official Prediction for tonight’s BCS Championship Game

First of all I don’t want to see another 9 to 6 overtime game tonight.

I’m fine with the overtime part; I just want to see some touchdowns, not field goals.

I’m having trouble wrapping my head around why the guys in the desert are making Alabama the favorite tonight when this is essentially a home game for LSU.

The Tigers traditionally play well in the Superdome.

Utah routed Alabama in the Tide’s last visit to New Orleans, which was the Sugar Bowl a few years ago.

Defensively I think this game’s a wash, no one side favors the other.

Offensively I think LSU is a little better because their quarterback, Jordan Jefferson, allows them to do a few more things the Tide can’t do.

In the coaching category, I tend to favor Nick Saban over Les Miles.

All that being said this is still a very difficult pick to make.

In the end, while Alabama may have the better coaching staff, I have to go with the better players; and LSU has better players.

Final score:  LSU 28, Alabama 24.

Yes… more scoring than the first yawner of a game which, if I’m right, will be exciting.

And if you’re at all a fan of the SEC, you know how tight these games are usually played, which is why I expect it to be close.

I just can’t go against LSU when the game is being played in the state of Louisiana.
