Let the games begin in Richmond!

Well story ideas should be easier for me to come up with now that the 2012 state legislative session officially kicked off at noon today.

The Governor’s State of the Commonwealth Address marks the more formal beginning tonight.

So get ready for more budget talks, committee sessions, and a media frenzy if and when there’s a tie in the Virginia Senate since Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling would be the one to break it in many situations.

I’m particularly curious on how state lawmakers will handle the 2012 and 2013 budget since the federal stimulus faucet has been turned off.

Lawmakers have a lot to do since the legislative session lasts a little over two months I believe.

So let’s get ready to keep informed and dissect many of these proposals since most, if not all of them, involve our tax dollars and our lives.
