I’m heading to the now second annual Leamon family getaway tomorrow in North Myrtle Beach.
I love the Grand Strand!
I worked there for four years for the CBS affiliate, WBTW, another Media General owned station in Myrtle Beach.
Below are a few of my recommendations:
Best meal with atmosphere: Hot Fish Club, Murrells Inlet. Great food and a wonderful scenic atmosphere. The restaurant has an outdoor bar with music and literally sits right there on the inlet.
Best place to get a beer: Stool Pigeons at Broadway at the Beach. Same as above. Nice atmosphere. Cool bartenders. Good music and plenty of TVs to watch the NBA Finals, baseball, or the World Cup this summer.
Best place to take the family: I like Alligator Adventure. It’s super cool! They have like the world’s largest captive alligator and several other great wildlife exhibits.
Best beach resort at affordable price: I recommend the Springmaid Beach Resort. Nice rooms. It has its own pier and buffet style restaurant. They also offer a deal every summer to where breakfast is included with your stay and you get your beach umbrellas as well.
