Don’t allow politicial parties and politicians to prey upon your ignorance

Some of you are going to think I’m insulting you here, but I’m not.

You’re ignorant.

I’m ignorant.

We’re all ignorant about something.

None of us are experts on everything.

Ignorance means lack of education; lack of knowledge.

And I think all of us could stand to use a little more education on a number of different subjects.

I know I can.

And I’m lucky because I’m paid to educate myself on a number of different topics that you, the viewers, care about—- ranging from state and local politics to NASCAR—- I have to be at least somewhat informed on a variety of different subjects.

My point is—- and I know that both political parties are going to pull this stunt during the 2012 election season—- don’t let them prey upon your ignorance.

Whether it’s health care to the tax code, don’t take their word for it—- research it—- talk to your friends about it—- educate yourself—- form your own opinions.

Talk to your doctor about the issues—- a police officer—- your stock broker—- gather as much information as you can so you can stay informed.

I see this everyday—- politicians, their political parties, and TV and radio pundits taking advantage of our lack of knowledge.

They try this with me too—- sometimes I want to take their words at face value—- but I can’t!

I’ve got to keep educating myself because that’s what you depend on journalists to do.

You’re busy.

You have a full-time job.  You’re trying to raise your kids.

You may not have the time to research all this stuff whereas we do.

Just don’t let yourself fall victim to any lack of knowledge.

You can control how educated you are.  They can’t.

There are many out there who may be depending on your ignorance to further their own agendas.
