It’s been abundantly clear to me for quite some time now that the Democrats consider Romney the real threat.
A win in Florida’s Republican primary tonight will likely give Romney a lead that no other candidate can surmount.
I base my opinion on the Democrats’ concern with Romney from the emails that flood my inbox most everyday from the DNC.
Now I’m not making an endorsement here.
I get the same annoying emails from the Republicans and their operatives as well.
But pretty much *every* email I get from the DNC, especially during any Republican candidate debate, is always bashing Romney.
That tells me something.
For the most part, the DNC isn’t wasting its time on Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum.
I think this November’s election will be close as we’ll have two quality candidates in which to choose.
Virginia will also be an integral part of this process, not necessarily for the Republican primary in March, but for the general election in November.
I suspect we’ll see the President in our area several times this summer (especially the Danville area), and perhaps at least one trip from the Republican nominee.
My bottom line is: the DNC is seeing something, somewhere indicating Romney will be the President’s opponent on the ballot this November.
This is an opinion a lot of you have probably already formed anyway and I’m seeing it too.
