Crips, Bloods, Latin Kings seem to be making move in SW Virginia

I spent a lot of the time on the phone recently with several gang investigators in our region.

These guys have their fingers on the pulses of local gang activity.

  A few trends they’re seeing:

  1) The Bloods seem to be making a real play in our area.  One source said they’re seeing members start to change colors and signs in an effort to avoid police detection.

  2) More big city gang members are coming to the area and recruiting.  These members are either running from police or sent down here to establish new start-ups, investigators I talked to said.

  3) The gang members moving into this area seem to be a little less careful than their big city counterparts.  This makes it easier for police to investigate but still a challenge since I’m told they’re often so unpredictable.

I have a feeling this is going to be a frequent story we’re going to cover in the coming months.

I fear there could be more violence.
