I don’t know about you, but the 21st Winter Olympics have been captivating to me. I look forward to each night to see who’s on tap and I’m constantly checking on the medal count.
To put it simply, the games from Vancouver have been thrilling. Sure, it helps that the American athletes are doing INCREDIBLY well. Heck, if we didn’t win another medal, we still would have outperformed expectations.
But, more than that, I have enjoyed learning the stories about the athletes. Some of the struggles they’ve overcome are amazing.
I know I shouldn’t admit this since I work for an NBC affiliate, but I have never been much of a fan of the Olympics. I don’t hate them. It’s just that the games have never been Must See TV to me.
These games are different… and I’m glad.
