So, what’s on tap for this week? It’s a busy one for sure.
First, I’m on day 15 of a 25 day work week. Karen and I are coming in to anchor all the evening shows during the Olympics. So far, it’s been fun, in part because I’ve gotten to see a lot of the Olympic Games. I’m chugging along.
Tuesday, I’ll be speaking at the Salem Kiwanis meeting. They want me to talk about politics, and given what’s going on in Washington, DC and Richmond, I’ll have plenty of material.
Speaking of Richmond, Sunday, the House and Senate presented their budget proposals and as expected they are vastly different. Of course, the Republicans control the House and the Democrats control the Senate, so the differences aren’t a surprise. Now, let’s buckle in for weeks of debate over painful cuts to our schools, health care, and public safety.
And one point of looking back, last week the world seemed obsessed with the build up to Tiger Woods’ big news conference, then on what he said, and finally on who was with him at the news conference and who was missing. It was obnoxious. He’s a golfer who made a mistake in his personal life. So what? I hope this week will be Tiger-free!
Finally, I have spring-itis. Yes, I know it’s a month away, but this beautiful weekend has been ready to be rid of this snow and for a sustained stretch of warmer weather. Come on March… I’m ready!
