Once again in the same school year I am a proud Horned Frog.
Of course TCU had a magical football season this year (minus our first BSC Bowl Game). The team played inspired football, won lots of accolades, and proved to the country that little TCU was a worthy contender.
Now, six months later, it’s TCU’s baseball team that is doing the same thing. They’ve advanced to the second round of the College World Series in Omaha after several very exciting games. We have two very strong pitchers, which could make us contenders all the way to the end!
Now, why do I care? Because I am a graduate of TCU; although, I was there in the early 1990’s when we didn’t win anything… I mean NOTHING! My, how times have changed.
So, you may see me wearing purple a little more often as the CWS continues and I will never miss an opportunity to send a shout out to the Horned Frogs. Please allow me this indulgence. How often can one school have stellar football and baseball programs in the same season?
