Progress in front of the Cotton Mill

BREAKING UPDATE: The road has been reopened in front of the Cotton Mill in downtown Roanoke.

If you read my blog, you know that I have had a running series on the sidewalk construction that’s been going on there for MONTHS. Yes, the road has been partially blocked for well over three months to redo the sidewalks for one block.

Now, one week away from September, they have at least reopened the road.

But, that doesn’t mean the work is complete. Construction equipment is still there. Cones surround a new corner (adjacent to Jefferson Center’s Fitzpatrick Hall). Landscaping still remains.

In other words, given the pace this project has gone, I don’t expect it to be completely finished until December!
