Of America’s most “frugal” senators, where are Virginia’s?

Politico.com had an interesting piece today on the most frugal senators.

Basically, as the site reports, every senator is allotted a set amount of money to run his or her office. This amount varies from senator to senator based on a complicated equation.

All senators gave some of their allotted amount back to the federal government. Put another way, no one spent all the money they were given which is commendable.

How did Virginia’s two senators do? Not bad at all.

Mark Warner came in at #13 out of 100 senators. That means he was the 13th most “frugal” senator. According to the website, Warner was given $5.9 million and gave back 17% of that, or $1 million dollars.

Sen. Jim Webb was a little further back at #46. He was allotted $6.72 million and gave back $588,000, which was 8.7%.
