We reported some very sad news tonight at 5pm. A farmer in Albemarle County found a body on his farm. Police later confirmed that they are “fairly certain” it’s the remains of missing Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington.
Morgan was reported missing three months ago after she left a concert on the UVA campus alone. Today’s news was probably what many people assumed we would one day report, but that doesn’t make it any easier to read or hear.
And, I can’t fathom how Morgan’s parents must feel today. They have been on a horrible emotional roller coaster since October 17th. But, through it all they remained vigilant, taking every opportunity they could to talk about their daughter and keep her face and name in front of the public, in the hope that it would help find her.
All of our thoughts should be with the Harrington family. I pray God will provide them with comfort during these difficult days.
