March Madness and my sad bracket

Okay, after several days of serious blogs about health care reform and civil discourse, let’s lighten the mood for a day and talk March Madness… and what a mad series it’s been.

I did two brackets this year and one is officially dead. I mean DEAD. It is so dead that I only have one… yes one… Sweet 16 team left. That’s Syracuse and I have them losing to Pitt in that round. I was third in our pool for the first two rounds, but that won’t last long. Sigh.

So yes, we can say that bracket isn’t going to win me anything. I kinda wish that there was a prize for the worst bracket.

Bracket #2 is doing better, thanks in part to President Obama. I used his picks this year to see if it increased my odds of winning. Last year he did very well. He even got the winner right.

And while his bracket is certainly doing better than mine (isn’t everyone’s), I fear that that momentum won’t last long either, as he picked Kansas to win the entire thing.

Bottom line, we haven’t even started the third round and I am pretty much done. Come on 2011!

How’s you’re bracket?
