I’m back. So, what’s happening this week… June 21st?

What’s happening this week… June 21st?

I can’t look ahead without looking back at the last two weeks which included two great trips for me.

First, I spent five days in Texas for my 20 year high school reunion. It was a GREAT time. Going into it, I’ll admit that I was a little nervous. As it turned out, the nerves were unnecessary. Everyone was just the same. Sure a few people had gained a few pounds or lost a few. A few had added some family members to their clan. A few had moved far, far away. And a few had suffered some tough losses. But by and large the class of 1990 was remarkably the same in appearance and action. In fact, we picked up right were we left off 2 decades ago. It almost felt like a time machine transported us back to high school. I walked away renewing some old friendships and feeling very lucky to have graduated with such an awesome group of people.

I also had a great time visiting with my mother while I was in Texas. We got a lot accomplished and had some good laughs; although, we didn’t have time for any Scrabble matches. That’s probably a good thing… as those games usually end in an argument!

The last portion of my vacation was spent in England. That, too, was a great vacation. I got to see two of my dearest friends, met a few new people, and saw some great shows. In fact, I guess you could call it my theater tour of London, as I saw three plays/musicals while I was there. And, just to make all of you Southwest Virginians a little jealous… the weather was perfect. No oppressive heat, humidity, or haze!

Today, is my first day back and of course Karen, Becky, and John Appicello are all off! Yikes! My voice is going to be very tired by 11pm. The rest of week is shaping up to be a meeting week with staff meetings, Big Brother Big Sister meetings… you get the picture. But, after my time off I’m ready for anything.
