Horned Frog fever… here comes the UVA/TCU game

This is a big weekend for UVA fans across the area and for the few TCU fans living around here… and I’m one of the latter!

I earned my bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University and my family has a long history there. Back when I was a TCU student the football team… was… well… not so hot (to be polite). Boy how things have changed.

TCU football is on a roll having made it nine bowl games in the last ten years and finished in the top 25 in six of the past eight seasons (according to the TCU Frog Club website).

We started this season ranked #17 and moved up one spot last week to #16. That leads us to Saturday’s game. I always hate to openly root against a Virginia team, but in this case I have to.

So, if it seems I’m bleeding purple this week and you’re tired of hearing about the Horned Frogs during our newscasts. I apologize and simply ask that you indulge me for a couple more days. I’ll stop being an obnoxious fan very soon… at least on the air!
