Is it just me or is Levi Johnston the Kato Kaelin of 2009?
I mean, his claim to fame was dating and then fathering Sarah Palin’s first grandchild with her teenage daughter.
But since then, his “career” has taken off. He’s been on the national talk shows and graced the covers of national magazines. He has an agent and will soon be photographed for Playgirl Magazine. His feud with Palin makes national headlines. And, just last night I noticed he has become the national pitchman for pistachios… the nut.
How long will his 15 minutes of fame last? He’s going on 15 months and counting!
UPDATE: Perhaps my comparison is outdated! As many of you know, I teach a class at Virginia Tech. Today, I mentioned the connection I’ve drawn between the Kato Kaelin’s burst of publicity and Levi Johnston’s. Not one of my 24 students had a clue who Kato Kaelin is. Not one! I feel old.
