Did you know that Roanoke City has an election next Tuesday? If not, you’re certainly not alone. In my 12 years in Roanoke, this is by far the lowest profile, least exciting City Council election I’ve witnessed. No question!

First, after a few down weeks in the political world, this week will pick back up with two debates. On Tuesday, I’ll be in Blacksburg moderating a debate between the GOP candidates vying to take on Democratic Congressman Rick Boucher in the 9th Congressional District. Then, on Thursday, I’ll be in Roanoke moderating the Roanoke City Council debate sponsored by the local chapter of the NAACP.
