Today, Roanoke College released a new poll on the Virginia Senate race that had a surprising result. It showed former Sen. George Allen (R-VA) up by eight points over former Gov. Tim Kaine (D-VA). According to the poll, the official results were 45% for Allen and 37% for Kaine.

Hello everyone. I want to address what has been an ongoing issue on our WSLS Facebook page for several days. For two days several people wrote repeated posts on our page complaining that WSLS wasn’t getting the word out about a missing teenage boy. At the time, we explained that according to police, this is a runaway case. WSLS only covers runaway cases if police tell us ...the child is in danger or there are other extenuating circumstances. From our news gathering on this case those criteria did do not exist. This explanation did not keep several people from continuing to post on our WSLS Facebook wall about the missing teenager.

Virginia has taken a shellacking over the past week as attention shifted to the General Assembly’s effort to pass several anti-abortion bills. One, called the Personhood Bill, would define life beginning at conception. The other, known as the ultrasound bill, would required women who want to get an abortion to first get a transvaginal ultrasound.

Generally, I’m stoked when TCU makes it into the headlines. Lately it has been for its stellar football and baseball programs, it’s award winning head football coach, or its move to the Big 12. All of that is good news for the university and makes all of us alums proud to be Horned Frogs.
