The ever-shrinking magazine

I’m annoyed with my magazine subscriptions. I’m sure you’ve noticed that magazines are on a MAJOR diet. My GQ used to be book sized. Now, it’s easily 75% smaller.

Webb laying foundation for reelection?

The political spotlight right now is on the coming 2010 elections, and rightfully so. However, some recent moves may indicate that at least one Virginia politician has his eye on 2012 and reelection. That leader’s name is Jim Webb.

What to expect from Obama’s address…

Tonight, President Obama will deliver his second State of the Union address. Few would argue that he starts his second year in office in a much weaker position politically. We’ve witnessed a noticeable decline in his poll numbers from the mid-60’s to the high-40’s.

My prayers are with the Harrington family…

We reported some very sad news tonight at 5pm. A farmer in Albemarle County found a body on his farm. Police later confirmed that they are “fairly certain” it’s the remains of missing Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington.

Inaugural people watching…

A week ago, I covered the inauguration of Governor Bob McDonnell. For a political junkie like me, these events are always a lot of fun to witness in person. Sure, it’s cool to see the swearing in, listen to the inaugural address, and attend the inaugural ball.
